Bactrim DS Tablet is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to Bactrim or any other components of the medication, dermatitis & infections with a known sensitivity to sulfonamide antibiotics. Therefore, this drug is recommended to patients with these conditions.

This drug is not recommended for use in children. Therefore, patients with a history of hypersensitivity to sulfonamides, sulfonamide antibiotics, or any other components of the medication should refrain from consuming these products.
Dosage Adjustment
The dose adjusted for adults and children below 18 years old is given in the form of a tablet. The dose adjusted for children ages 16 years and above is given in the form of a tablet. The dose adjusted for elderly patients is given in the form of a tablet. The dose adjusted for renal impairment and patients on maintenance therapy are given in the form of a tablet. The dose adjusted for children below 18 years is given in the form of a tablet.

Precautions
The use of this medication is recommended only for short-term treatment of acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis or sinusitis. The drug may be used in the treatment of acute sinusitis or for relief of bronchospasm in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
No patient should give their medical history, especially if they have a history of sulfonamide antibiotics-sensitive infections, or if they have a history of hypersensitivity to sulfonamides- or sulfonamides-containing products.
This drug should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding. It is not known if this medication is in adequate doses in patients with diabetes, renal impairment, or hepatic impairment. Patients with diabetes and renal impairment should be started on insulin and regularly monitored for the development of hypoglycemia, hyperglycemia, or other serious side effects.
The use of this medication is not recommended in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to sulfonamides- or sulfonamides-containing products, other sulfonamides, or any other components of the medication.
